I’ve been spending a lot of time going through Moneylove page by page. The biggest surprise is that I still find things I wrote that I don’t remember writing. The book itself will soon be re-issued in a Kindle edition, and I am working on annotating and revising it. Though still timely, there are things I’ve learned and taught over the past thirty years that I want to add. Here are the sentences that most struck my fancy in my most recent reading:
1. Financial satisfaction is better than financial security.
2. Money is just a vehicle to take you to your desires.
3. Money is a beautiful human invention that most people haven’t figured out how to use yet.
4. People who say, “Well, I don’t want much money, just enough to get by,” really don’t love themselves enough to feel they deserve more.
5. Prosperity is living easily and happily in the real world, whether you have money or not.
6. It takes action to move forward, and thought that isn’t followed by action is worthless when it comes to changing your life.
7. The richest man in all the world is the one who has a good time earning his daily bread.
8. As a creative human being–with countless valuable ideas waiting in your subconscious right now–you can be truly fulfilled only when you find a means of expression.
9. There’s no way you will ever be able to buy back enough pleasure to make up for what you missed by not enjoying your work.
10. Never lose sight of the fact that you are a valuable, income-producing property, worth investing lots of time and money in.
I probably could have come up with a dozen more lists of ten favorite sentences. So far, I see all of them as messages even more relevant today than when I wrote them. And each one can stimulate new thoughts on the subject.
